The BOGG 2018 Show

Bristol 0 Gauge Group [BOGG] 2018

Our thankyou letter

Sunday 28th January 2018, saw the annual Model Railway Exhibition in 0 Gauge staged at the University of the West of England [UWE], by the Bristol 0 Gauge Group, assisted by Members of the West Wilts 0 Gauge Group, with the assistance of family & friends.

The weather was not the kindest to the travelling public, with gust wind & rain showers, some visitors commented on how mild it was in Bristol, after leaving home with frost on the ground.

Our door raffle locomotive was won by Mr M. Lucas, from the Vale of Glamorgan with Light Green ticket 873, who has the choice between the Ixion Fowler [full GWR lining] or Minerva’s ‘NEW’ 8750 pannier with choice of livery.  He is yet to let us know his choice between the Ixion or Fowler locomotive.

The single advance ticket draw was won by a Member of the Exeter Gauge 0 Group, Mr B Colley, from Dawlish, Devon. Who chose a Dudley & Gibson wagon,

The ’Carbon-foot-print’ draw was won by Mr Thorogood’s party from New Quay, South Wales. They chose 2 Hendy & Co, & 2 Pountney wagons.

Show wagons from previous years are still available, contact: - Bob Taylor 0117 9836036 for details of stock levels on each.

The show charity raffle [CHSW] took about £250.00, on the day, the bring and buy fees will be added to this, giving nearly £1200.00

Numbers through the door were about the same as last year, to a total of 1405, it felt they all arrived at the same time between 08.45 & 10.30 am, we sold 146 advance tickets this allowed visitor access to the toilets, a hot drink & the must have bacon sarnie, before the show opened, after travelling from all corners of the UK & EU.

Numbers were again split 2/3 Gauge 0 Guild member, to 1/3 Non Guild, with Families of visitors [wives/partners/children] bringing in another 250.

With traders / stewards / layout operators / demonstrators / club & societies we can add another 250 to people in the hall, a lot of bodies to create heat.

We thank all 85 of our traders who attended, [we hope the 3 traders who fell foul to the winter bugs that you get well soon], this year we had 7 new & 2 returning traders, and one visitor asked where are we find all the interesting traders from !!

A BIG THANK YOU to you who visited the BOGG 2018 exhibition, without you visiting us the traders would go home with long faces a tell us it was not a viable show for them, and are not going to turn up next year

Our requested date for 2019 is Sunday 27th January 2019, awaiting confirmation from the venue [UWE] that this date is available, it depends when the area is no longer required for an EXAM HALL.

Updates as they become available on trade attending / layouts / demonstrators will be posted on the show web site www.bogg7mmexhibition.com

Trade invites will be sent as soon as UWE confirm the 2019 show date.

Many thanks for attending as a visitor in 2018, see you back again in 2019.

A final thank you to all our families & friends who turnd out to assit in the setting out, covering of over 250 tables on Saturday & collecting them in again on Sunday.
